Jell-O shots have certainly grown up since the days of dixie cups, bottom-shelf vodka, and fraternity parties. Watch the video to learn how to make two surprisingly sophisticated, fruity spins on this college-party staple. Adapted from Bakers Royale Strawberry Margarita Jell-O Shots Ingredients1 (3-ounce) box Strawberry Jell-O 1 1/4 cups water, divided 8 ounces tequila 6 ounces Cointreau Kosher salt Lime, cut into triangles Directions Cut the bottoms of the strawberries off so they stand upright. Make sure to not cut off too much or the strawberries will leak. Use a huller or melon baller to scoop out the center of the strawberry, creating a cup. Use a paper towel to pat the strawberry dry. Boil 1 cup of water in a saucepan, then add in Jell-O powder and whisk until the powder is completely dissolved. Combine tequila, Cointreau, and 1/4 cup of cold water. Add to the Jell-O, and stir to combine. Carefully pour the Jell-O mixture into the strawberries, and chill overnight. Before serving, rim the strawberry tops with salt and garnish with a lime triangle.
