Dr. Vicky Seelall teaches Dan Soder how to perform the Heimlich maneuver on yourself. First make a fist, with your thumb pointing up. Place your fist on your stomach between your belly button and your rib cage. Then use your other hand to press that fist into that area in a quick upward movement. That forces air into your windpipe, and pushes anything stuck in there right out onto the floor. For even more force, try the same movement using a stationary chair.
