British cane sugar brand Tate & Lyle Sugars created a pop-up cake hotel to launch it’s new ‘Taste Experience’ range of golden and brown cane sugars. Located in London’s Soho, the ‘Tasting House’ enabled fifty competition winners to sample a range of different treats. These were created by Miss Cakehead and a team of food artists including Sarah Hardy Cakes, Nevie Pie Cakes, Cakeadoodledo, Carina’s Cupcakes, Rosalind Miller, Juliet Sears, Two Little Cats Bakery, and more.
All of the elements of the cake hotel took over 2,000 hours to bake using more than 600 kilos of Taste Experience sugar. The edible furnishings include vanilla sponge cushions, windows and walls clad with macaroons, a meringue rug, marshmallow garlands, and a bath filled with caramel-coated popcorn.
